“It’s like running in a San Francisco postcard.” – Jack Collins

Sustainable Race is a running race to foster sustainability awareness, focusing on San Francisco’s drive to 100% renewable energy. The Race starts in front of the Beach Hut Café on the San Francisco Bay Trail on August 2nd at 7AM.

Free for Registered Runners

  • Sustainable Race 11K Sweatband (’70s retro headband)
  • Sunflower at race finish (must finish by 10 am)
  • Assortment of foods and drinks in front of the Beach Hut Café
  • Raffle entry for first 1,000 names registered
  • One free beer at Blue Light Bar on Union Street (must turn in race bib post race on Aug. 2nd for beer)

You take care of your own health. Well, the City needs to take care of its health too. Enjoy a run along the waterfront and learn more about sustainability in San Francisco.

Rehydrate, relax and have a coffee after the race. We’ll have awards for our top speedy runners, a raffle and socialize around Jack’s San Francisco Renewable Chart. More details coming soon.

Race bibs will be at the Presidio Sports Basement on July 31st and August 1st from 4 pm to 8 pm. Registered runners can pick up their free sweatband at race bib pick up.

  1. Great idea! SF State has a sustainability MBA – you may want to get posters at those B schools! PS “average” spelling correction.

  2. Wonderful event!…Are there sponsorships available?

    Will

  3. Hi.
Do you need volunteer on race day to help out the running event? Thanks.
    Henry

    • Thanks Henry

      Yes, we need more volunteers.
Volunteers receive a Sustainable Race 11K t-shirt and sweatband. Of course, we will have food and drinks for the volunteers as well.

Please contact Jack Collins by email, [email protected], for all inquiries.

  4. Hi,
Is there still a chance to have free raffle by today?
    Akihiko

  5. Do I have to be there in person to pick up my race bib or can someone pick it up for me?

    • You must be there in person to pick it up. If you cannot make it to Presidio Sports Basement, we will have your bib at the race day (August 2nd) preregistration table from 5:30 am to 6:30 am.

      Thanks

  6. What are the options for driving to the race? Where are some places we can park?

  7. There will be a parking sign pointing to the large Crissy Field lot. The lot is next to the Crissy Field Center / Beach Hut Café.

    Thanks
